Superbowl Appetizer: Easy Cheesy Quesadillas

Ingredients:
20 flour tortillas
3-4 kinds of shredded cheese (or a cheese blend)
(Monterey Jack, Cheddar, Colby, Colby-Jack, Quesadilla)mix together
canola oil
Optional Toppings:
Salsa
Black Olives
Sour Cream
Refried beans or bean dip
Jalapenos

Putting it all together:
This is a really simple recipe. Use a basting brush to brush one side of 1/2 the flour tortillas with canola oil. Lay the oiled side face down on the cookie sheet. Spread about 1/4 to one half cup of the cheese blend on each tortilla. Top with the other tortilla, and brush the top of the tortilla with oil. Bake at 325` for a few minutes, until cheese is melty. Flip and bake again if necessary.
Set up a little Quesadilla bar with all the toppings for your guests to choose from.

A History Of The Superbowl

The Super Bowl was first played on January 15 1967 as part of an agreement between the NFL and its younger rival, the American Football League (AFL) in which each league's championship team would play each other in an "AFL-NFL World Championship Game". After the leagues merged in 1970, the Super Bowl became the NFL's championship game, played between the champions of the league's two conferences: the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).

Since the NFL season extends into the New Year, the Super Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game, rather than the year it was held. For example, Super Bowl XLII, played in February 2008, was actually part of the 2007 season.

Superbowl party Appetizer: Pizza Pinwheels

Pizza pinwheels are easy to make, and fun to eat. This recipe can be easily doubled, or quadrupled to feed a group of hungry Superbowl fans.

Ingredients:
one tube of crescent rolls
3 Tablespoons of pizza sauce
12 pepperoni
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese

Preparation and baking:
Flatten out the crescent rolls on a lightly oiled flat surface. Seal all the seams to make one large piece, and press out with fingers. Spread the pizza sauce thinly on top. Chop the pepperoni, and spread them on the sauce. Top with one cup of the mozzarella cheese. Roll the crescent roll up (like you would a cinnamon roll). Slice the roll into 1" thick slices. Each roll should make about 8 slices. Lay the cut side down on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the slices, and bake at 375` for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese begins to brown. Remove from the oven and serve warm.
